After debating whether to cough up $50 for the current rave Modern Renaissance palette (and listening to my parents judge me forever about it), it seems the beauty gods answered my pleas and placed a lovely blog post for me to find on the gram.
After low key screaming internally for about 20 minutes, I decided HELL YES I'm buying this to see if it is actually good.
The palette came in a surprisingly small and compact packaging, similar in size to the ABH contour palette, but slightly shorter.
After opening the package, you can truly see how much of a dupe this palette is, even keeping the same shade names as the ABH palette. (L-R: Temepra, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter, Cyprus Umber, Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taupe, Realgar, Party (added shade) )
The shades are even in the same order!
Swatches:
BeautyCreations Irresistible Palette
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
The shades do appear to be a near exact dupe. However, as you can see, it is quite obvious that the ABH palette is more pigmented, which proves that you pay for what you get. However, the texture of the dupe is surprisingly very creamy and can certainly be layered to get the desired pigmentation, or combined with MAC fix+.
Ingredients:
BeautyCreations: (in order) Talc, Mica, Paraffinum Liquidum, Polyisobutene, Kaolin, Silica, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Phenoxyethanol, CI77429, CI77491, CI77499, CI77891
Pro's: Claims to be cruelty free, formula is consistent with all shades, 15grams of product, comes with mirror.
Con's: Contains talc, and silicone dioxide, does not come with brush.
ABH: Varies from shade to shade. (See here for complete listings)
Pro's: Does not contain Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, comes with mirror and brush.
Con's: Formula varies shade to shade, does not claim to be cruelty free, approx. 7grams of product.
Overall, my final verdict is that the dupe is an AMAZING cheaper option for those who don't want to splurge on the ABH palette. That being said, you have to realize that the quality isn't going to be as great as the higher end palette. But, if you are okay with lower quality ingredients, or even just want to play around with a similar palette so see if you will really use and enjoy the shades- BUY THIS PALETTE first, and then see if you would splurge on the ABH in the future!
